.38-55 Remington Rolling Block. 

 
38-55.jpg (31937 bytes) I made and use this rifle for long range shooting at cowboy-western competitions.  Ranges are usually 150 - 500 yards.   The rifle shoots most any bullet with excellent accuracy. 

Yes, I do wear the hat.

The receiver is bone-hardened.  The octagon barrel is 'browned' instead of blued.  There are two sets of open sights.  I fitted and checkered Fajen walnut stock and foreend.

Checkering a stock  takes a loooong time.    This project took me a little more than a year to complete.
